The Area

When to Visit
Summer, from December to February, brings the warmest weather and the beach culture in full swing, alongside the festive New Year fireworks over the harbour. Spring (September to November) and autumn (March to May) are arguably ideal, with comfortable temperatures, fewer crowds and good conditions for both city and coast. Winter (June to August) stays mild on the coast and is the time for whale watching and crisp Blue Mountains air. For warm swimming weather, plan a stay between October and April.
