Light and airy, Suriyawatta is a beautiful and stylish 5-bedroom family beach front home perched above the ocean overlooking a small bay with a surf break. The terraced gardens, with the house on the upper level, offering gorgeous southerly views across a surf break and out to sea lead down to the sandy beach. The pool is on the level below the house with steps leading from it down to the final level with the private beach gate. To enter the sea from here requires a 5 meter walk over rocks. Suriyawatta is immaculately designed. Four bedrooms are in the main single storey housed entered around an inner courtyard. This courtyard can be closed at both ends making it an easy area for parents with young children. The 5th bedroom is set slightly apart in the garden. These 5 bedrooms comfortably sleep 10 adults or 8 adults + 4 children. All bedrooms have air con and over head fans and fitted mosquito nets, with ensuite sleek and spacious bathroom with immaculate modern furnishings. The French owners have that easy going elegant style, which is reflected throughout the properties’ interior, while the white washed walls and Farrow & Ball green shutters add to the serenity and calm of this modern-colonial, terraced retreat. The rooms’ décor, mixes antique furniture, rich textiles and canopy beds with exposed polished cement, creating a charming contemporary-chic feel. There is a great sense of continuity and calm as each room has been thoughtfully considered. The living room has stunning polished tiled floors and a high vaulted ceiling with elegant grey sofas from which guest can take in the impressive views thanks to the expansive open-plan design. The enticing turquoise salt-water pool sits between the villa and the ocean, with an alfresco shower tucked into the steps, leading down to the beach. Between mid-December and early April, there is a left-hand surf break that experienced surfers can paddle out from the beach gate.
