The first thing that strikes you is the untamed, authentic charm of this stunning Chalet. Its imposing façade of Savoy stone and aged wood appears to emerge fully-formed from the rock face. This rustic style continues inside, with more raw stone and wood joined by terra cotta tiles and traditional floors. The tan leather armchairs, fur rugs and hardwood furniture all add to this sense of warmth and authenticity. Every room has its own little piece of Savoyard history, with a host of vintage decorative details ranging from snow shoes to cast iron basins to holy icons. A few more modern touches – the soft sofas, trendy leather chairs and crisp linen – provide added comfort and colour. In the chalet, relax in the indoor swimming pool as you admire the scenery through the vast arched windows. The view over the village and surrounding mountains is every bit as majestic from the jacuzzi, out on the veranda. And of course, it’s only a 400 meter walk to the lift which will take you to Face de Bellevarde, one of the resorts most legendary black runs. After a long day on the slopes, enjoy a well-earned treat with one of Maison Chevallot’s famous blueberry tarts. But don’t forget to save space for dinner: L'Étable d'Alain warms up those long winter nights with delicious dishes made with products fresh from the farm.
